Electrical sweeping also coming soon?

As well as the fully electrically driven 1160 eHoftrac®, Weidemann, in cooperation with bema, is exhibiting a design study with the rotary sweeper 20 Dual E, which is also electrically driven. Normally, a connected rotary sweeper is operated by the loader's hydraulic system (3rd control circuit). The idea behind the new rotary sweeper is to dispense with the conversion from electrical energy into hydraulic energy. This is achieved by means of two electric motors installed in the rotary sweeper and directly connected to the 1160 eHoftrac® battery. This enables up to 60% more run time - a valuable consideration for the e-machine field of application.

All of the bema 20 Dual E rotary sweeper's functions can be operated from the eHoftrac®.

This means that the collection tray can be emptied and the brush rollers can be switched on or off via the operating terminal. Other equipment components, such as side sweepers or water spray devices, can also be easily controlled. The plan is for the rotary sweeper to potentially go on sale as from August 2019, exclusively through Weidemann dealers

Concept study e20: hydraulics to be replaced by electric drive directly on the rotary sweeper.

Engine upgrade for the 1140 Basic Line, 1140, 1160 and 1280.

The 1140 Basic Line from Weidemann enjoys huge popularity as an entry-level model. It also offers small businesses the opportunity of being able to mechanise their materials handling. Large numbers of the next size up in Hoftracs®, the 1140 and 1160, are also leaving the Weidemann plant in the Hanseatic City of Korbach. Many customers will therefore be delighted that from 2019, these successful compact machines will cease to be fitted with 17.9 kW/24 hp engines, these being replaced by the Perkins 18.4 kW/25 hp engine of the exhaust emission level 5.

Also, for reasons of compliance with the emissions standard and for a transitional period from next year, the 1280 will be fitted with a powerful Perkins turbo engine 403J-17T with 19 kW/24 hp. In keeping with the saying that “displacement should never be replaced, except with more displacement”, this will be increased from 1.1 to 1.7 litres.

New engines due to exhaust emission standards.

Review of the 2080LPT model

At Weidemann, LP stands for “low position”. Thanks to the lower driver's cab and seat position, the machine has a lower overall height. This means it can easily travel through narrow passages. It also allows the operator easy entry and shifts the centre of gravity towards the ground.

After the popular 2070LPT model with 80 hp is finally discontinued due to the current emissions standard, Weidemann will be introducing its successor, the 2080LPT, with a new level 5 Deutz Common Rail turbodiesel engine and a maximum of 55.4 kW/75 hp. Plans are also afoot for a machine of this type with a load arm. In this connection, there will also be an option for the machine to be fitted with the comfort cab with LED work lights. An air conditioning system is also available as an option. The similarly optional proportional control via the multifunction joystick now enables more convenient working: in addition to the function of the 3rd proportional control circuit that can be activated on the joystick, the continuous operation of the 3rd control circuit can also be activated via the button toggle switch – and also in both directions by moving the thumbwheel. For the wheeled loaders, the function of the 4th control circuit can also be operated proportionally via the joystick. For the telescopic wheel loaders, the telescoping is possible via the scroll wheel. The operating speed can thus be individually adjusted. Both electrical functions can also be operated on the joystick in a detenting or latching manner. Both electric functions are independent so that they can be individually configured by the operator.

New 4080T Basic Line

The 40 series from Weidemann is also affected by the engine changeover and with this in mind, a new 4080T Basic Line will be available in this performance category from 2019 as an alternative to the existing 4080T with 55 kW. The plan is for the machine to have a telescopic arm and also an optional load arm. In accordance with the exhaust emission level 5, the loaders are fitted with a Deutz Common Rail turbodiesel engine TCD 2.9 L4 with 55.4 kW/75 hp with DPF (diesel particulate filter). With an operating weight of 6,100 kg, the loader achieves a tipping load with bucket of 3,363 kg in a straight line. The huge range of applications for the telescopic wheel loader also results from the maximum height of the bucket pivotal point being 5,076 mm. The hydraulic performance stands at 103 l/min with an option to increase to 115 l/min. By optimising the drum brake system and the use of a basic display, it has been possible to achieve a lower entry price for what is known as the Basic Line model. As with the previous model, the loader has a hydraulically tiltable cab to ensure ease of servicing.
