French Manufacturer of Potato Chips Opts for Biomethane

Recently, biogas plant builder WELTEC BIOPOWER completed a biomethane plant for ALTHO, a French manufac-turer of potato chips in St. Gérand, Brittany. The plant was planned and set up by the German manufacturer in collaboration with its French partner WELTEC France. Some 200 standard m³/h of biomethane are generated from production waste and sludge from the company‘s own wastewater treatment plant. This corresponds to the gas consumption of a town with a population of 5,000.

Potential of biogas plants not yet exhausted

Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG is presenting its wide range of technical solutions for the optimization of biogas plants at EuroTier & EnergyDecentral in Hanover (November 13 - 16, 2018, booth G18 in hall 25). “The potential of many existing biogas plants has not yet been exhausted. With efficient components such as reliable and powerful pumping technology and innovative processes for substrate treatment, operators are able to reduce costs, increase gas yields and thus increase the profitability of the plant,” says Harald Vogelsang, Managing Director of Vogelsang.

With an electrical output of more than 4,200mW, biogas plants have become an important pillar in the transition to renewable energy in Germany, and elsewhere. Visitors to EnergyDecentral, the International Trade Fair for Renewable Energy Supply that takes place alongside EuroTier 2018 from 16 to 18 November in Hanover, will be able to exchange views on the current situation and future perspectives of this technology.

Liquid Manure Volume Reduced by Half

German biogas specialist WELTEC BIOPOWER now offers a proven solution for the processing of slurry and digestate for livestock owners and biogas plant operators. The fully automated processing system „Kumac“ reduces the liquid manure and digestate volume by 50 percent. In a four-stage procedure, clear water, liquid fertiliser concentrate and valuable solid matter are extracted from the source material.
